Judo in the GTA

I had been asking this question myself and have heard others ask, is there Judo in Toronto? I think the answer is that there is several options, though I would like to hear from people with feedback about which place would be the better choice.

---

First, there is the Judo club at Hart House U of T:

University of Toronto Judo Club
I have heard a few positive comments but not a lot of details. First thing that comes to mind, is that anything hosted by a school, university, community centre, etc. is usually a pain to sign up for, but probably worth the hassle in the end as it's probably cheap. Might be a great bang for the buck, so I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with the club.

---

Ronin Judo club
Website could use a face lift, but I have not heard any negative comments about this place, which also seems to have Sumo! Located at Dupont and Landsdown. I would like to hear feedback about this plac.

---

Minoru (Dojo) Martial Arts Centre

1290 Queen W Toronto Ontario M6K 1L4 (416) 535-0332

Word online is that they have tough Judo with a mean stand-up and great focus on newaza (ground fighting).

Etobicoke Judo Club
Toky Kamino
41 Belgate place, Etobicoke

Telephone
(416) 621-6952

Workout Location
Ourland Community Centre
18 Ourland Ave., Etobicoke

Don't know anything about this joint...

---

Tsunami Club
Richmond Hill

Offering Judo, jiujitsu and Karate

---

Tora Judo club
Brampton

---

Shinbukan Judo
Mississauga,

8th dan instructor, I believe is the highest ranking instructor available in Ontario.

---

Judo Ontario used to have a list of clubs, but it seems to be no longer available.
